It seems like a new trend is appearing, a throwback to 70's psychodramas. Alex Ross Perry's Queen Of Earth, as well as the darker Goodnight Mommy directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. The trailer that sees Hollywood power-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reunite on the silver screen for the first time in ten years looks to be yet another addition to the expanding psychodrama field. The trailer is well-crafted, with minimal dialogue and focusing on tone rather than plot.

The most enticing element of this film, apart from seeing such a well-established couple play a fragmenting marriage, is the cinematography. There seems to be a keen eye orchestrating formal shots that emphasise space and isolation. In fact, there are two, as director Angelina Jolie brought on two fantastic cinematographers fro the film: Christian Berger, longtime collaborator with maestro Michael Haneke, as well as Dean Semler, Mad Max 2 and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome cinematographer.
